The Hampshire Down Sheep Breeders’ Association offers the following to members
- Pedigree Hampshire Downs: only sheep bred and registered by members of the HDSBA may be described as Pedigree and recorded on the database and annual flockbook.
- Annual Flock Book: all members listed with flock details and sheep registered giving a comprehensive database of current breeding and award winners.
- Pedigree Certificates: five generation certificate for registered sheep showing breeder and current owner.
- Group breed performance recording and Sire Reference schemes run by Signet.
- Area clubs offering a range of social and educational activities.
- ‘hampshire-e-news’ – an update of news and reports six times per year.
- Export inspection – official quality control inspection of all sheep intended for export.
- Cups and trophies offered countrywide at agricultural shows, and HDSBA national flock competition.
- Breed marketing programme to support all aspects of the membership
- Young members group
- Advice and mentor programme
- Annual General Meeting weekend away in different regions, including the annual dinner, flock visits, informative speakers and the AGM.
