Age Is Just a Number as ewe takes National Show title!

Taking the top honours at the 2022 National Show was John Harrison from the Croftheads Flock, Mid Glamorgan with an aged ewe B291900143. Judge on the day was Martin Sivill from the Glanrafon Flock who said of the ewe ‘The champion stood out as she was a good, powerful example of the breed. She had all the breed characteristics that, in my opinion, are a good advertisement for the breed and just the kind of sheep i would want in my flock. A real contender for Interbreeds in other shows’

There was a fantastic show of sheep on display which was reiterated by the judge ‘I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge its classes in the National Show at the Royal Three Counties. The selection of sheep put in front of me were a credit to the exhibitors and made my job, as the judge, much harder! The class that particularly stood out for me, was the ewe lamb class, where each one could have been deserving of a rosette, but i was only able to award 6! I would honestly go as far as saying, it was the best class of Hampshire’s i have ever judged.

Reserve Overall Champion went to the B832200300 the ram lamb from Adrian Rundle, Treworthal Flock, Cornwall. This ram lamb has already has a few rosettes under his belt having been Champion at Bath & West and Royal Cornwall.
