Impressive Entries from all over the World for the Online Sheep Show.

With over 120 entries in the Hampshire Down classes, the final Online Sheep Show was quite a spectacle with entries coming from as far as South Africa and the Netherlands as well as all over the UK & Northern Ireland.

Alison Halcrow from the Parkstock Flock had the mammoth task of judging the photos this time round and it was females all the way in the Championship. Coming out top of the pops was an impressive ewe lamb from Steffan Harries Llainterfyn Flock from Pembrokeshire.

‘The Champion shows the power and impressive growth rates of a Hampshire Down lamb, while still retaining breed character and femininity’ commented Alison after the judging.

Allen & Vicky McFadden from Northern Ireland who won the first Online Show with a ewe lamb took the reserve spot this time with ‘a strong breeding ewe’ according to the Judge ‘key to any sheep system; retaining condition and good longevity. Very correct and again full of character. Ready for the job’

Gaining Interbreed success was Adrian Rundle from the Treworthal Flock in Cornwall who beat off strong competition to win the Interbreed Group of Three class.

The Association would like to say a big thank you to the team at the Online Sheep Show for keeping everyone entertained with the three great shows they have put on, each one getting bigger and better. Also a massive thank you and congratulations to all the Hampshire Down breeders for entering their sheep and for putting on such a fabulous show each time. I’m sure we’re all looking forward to actually meeting up and showing our sheep at a live show next year though!
