Hampshires doing well at Agrifest

What a day for the breed at Agrifest this week, with record entries of cattle and sheep and the quality being exceptionally high, it was a great achievement at Exeter to get Reserve Supreme Pair of Lambs judged on carcase quality.

It was Tom & Tash Bougourd from the Loxhill Flock at Bristol that took the honours with a pair of ewe lambs bred by John Harrison & Sue Parry Croftheads Flock, Wales.

The pair started the day winning the pair of Hampshire Pure Lambs class first off beating strong competition from Adrian Rundle Treworthal Flock in second, third went to Milly & Tian Bersey Perdredda Flock and fourth went to Harrison & Parry Croftheads Flock and a pair from Terry Simmonds Duchy Flock and another pair from Treworthal also participated in the class.

The pair then went on to win the Native Pure Bred Champion Pair, then Reserve Champion in the Pure Bred Championship and then beating all the winners from the weight classes too to become Reserve Supreme Pair of Lambs.

It was also great to see a number of Hampshire cross lambs participating the weight classes too so well done to all the exhibitors.
