Juniors take the top awards at the Highland Show

Juniors to the fore proving the future of the breed is in safe hands with two young Members taking the top honours with their ewe lamb on their first trip to the Highland with Hampshires.

Eilidh and Innes MacKinnon from the GLEN ETIVE Flock, Berwick on Tweed are just wee lambs themselves and beat off stiff competition from breeders from all over the country to gain the coveted prize. The very flashy ewe lamb F822300063 is one of only two lambs born to the Glen Etive flock this year, sired by the 4000gn Thornfalcon Odyssey and out of a Graylen ewe and took the eye of judge Harry Middleditch from the St Paul Flock in Suffolk.

Reserve Champion went to the Reserve Female Champion and the winner of the Shearling Ewe class TREWORTHAL B832200318 from Adrian Rundle all the way from Cornwall. Very ably shown by Adrian’s son Richard this ewe has already taken Breed Champion at Royal Bath & West Show this year. Sired by Graylen Churchill out of a homebred ewe going back to Yarcombe breeding.

Male Champion went to Alan & Debbie MacKinnon TWEEDGLEN with a shearling ram Graylen Gypsy King 24Y2205113, bred by the Galbraiths at Graylen, this is another one sired by the 4000gn Thornfalcon Odyssey and out of a Graylen ewe.
