More Success for the Hampshire Breed at the Online Sheep Show

The second Online Sheep Show has just taken place and there was yet more Interbreed success for the Hampshire breed with the Champion taking Reserve Interbreed behind the Texel.

Yet again competition was strong with all photos having to be taken in 2020. The winning entry for the Hampshire breed was Andrew Goldie’s ewe from the Hoddam Flock in Scotland. ‘She just oozes serious power, style and spark which I like to see in a show animal and it made my job easier as she just shows herself so naturally.’ Said judge Allen McFadden from the Ashley Flock in Northern Ireland who’s ewe lamb won in the previous Online Show.

Allen remarked ‘It was great to see good numbers entered with some quality animals in all classes .l found class B ewe to be extremely strong and was the largest class on the day. I enjoyed my time judging and seeing some great quality sheep in these trying times hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

Reserve breed champion was a ewe lamb from Alison Halcrow, Parkstock Hampshire Downs, another smart and correct lamb according to the judge. This Ewe lamb will be entered for the HDSBA Online Sale starting on the 12th June. The first three ram lambs in their class are also entered for the sale so don’t miss out the catalogue will be out on the 1st June.

Commenting after his success, Andrew Goldie said ‘Thank you to the Online Sheep Show for giving us all a bit of fun and I’ve left the kitty in the beer tent!’
