Plans Announced for 2020 AGM
Exciting speaker announced for the ‘Virtual’ AGM
After the disappointment of postponing the AGM weekend event in Belgium until 2021 and then as the months progressed it became obvious that a physical meeting would be impossible, the HDSBA have invited an exciting guest speaker to speak at their virtual AGM on the 31st October to add some entertainment to the proceedings.
Members have been sent all the paperwork for the meeting but we can now announce that Gareth Wyn Jones has agreed to speak after the formalities of the meeting. Gareth, who presented the BBC 1 series ‘The Family Farm’ has a big social media presence representing all rural matters and we’re looking forward to hear his tales from the Welsh Mountains.
Gareth Wyn Jones is the nation’s favourite farmer. Born in the beautiful Carneddau mountains in North Wales, he has lived all his life at Ty’n Llwyfan, the windswept slopes where his family have farmed for over 370 years. Today he lives there with his wife and three kids. He believes that farming is a way of life, not just a job, and that there needs to be greater support for local farmers and respect for the food they produce. He strives to educate and share his unique way of life and to encourage people to eat healthily; food that is sustainable and local to support a circular economy fit for future generations. His ambition is to bridge the gap between towns and countryside and champion our rural heritage and farming communities.
The AGM is on the 31st October at 10.30am, all paid up Members are welcome to attend and to reserve a space email: firstname.lastname@example.org by the 23rd October.
