Royal Welsh Winners
It was a ram lamb from Harry Elsden’s HERTFORD flock that beat off stiff competition to win the Royal Welsh 2023. Judge, Allen McFadden from the ASHLEY flock in Northern Ireland had the difficult job with 17 ram lambs to sort out along with many other big classes showing the breeds popularity.
The Champion ram lamb 98Z2301043 is yet another successful lamb sired by St Paul Dark Fruit (Premier Sale Champion 2022) who has already sired a National Show Champion and Interbreed Champion for HERTFORD flock. He is out of a home bred ewe by St Paul Bullseye
Reserve Champion went to the Female Champion from Jennifer Borsey & Martin Sivill GLANRAFON flock. The shearling ewe 77X2200964 was sired by Ballycreelly Shamrock which was bought at the 2021 Premier Sale and out of a homebred ewe with Glanrafon breeding on both sides.
Harry Elsdens HERTFORD flock went onto Interbreed success winning the Reserve Champion pairs.
