South West Record Broken at Exeter Sale

Bidding from all over the country via Marteye helped to make another record breaking sale for the Hampshire breed this time at Exeter Market, Devon.

Breaking the record for the south west sale with a final bid of 1500gns was Adrian Rundles TREWORTHAL B832000130. This shearling ewe by Treworthal Savea  and sold in lamb to Thornfalcon Thatcher, heads to Hertfordshire to join Harry Elsden’s Hertford flock.

Two Senior in lamb ewes sold for 700gns for Jon Barnard & Justine McPhersons Stourfield Flock. Both in scanned with twins, one heads off to Co. Durham and one remains in Devon.

 

Ewe lambs achieved 100% clearance averaging £406 with four making the top price of 450gns for Lucy Heywood, Thornfalcon and Robin & Sue Small, Goodstone.

Later born ewe lambs sold well with two April lambs from Charles & Jan Hurst from Worcester realising 320gns both sired by Maes Glas Captain Tom.

One shearling ram was cashed in for 300gns after making his way from Wiltshire for the Clarendon Flock and sells to a local commercial farmer to run on his continental ewes.
